How It Started
In the late 1980s, Tim couldn’t afford a transmission repair. Instead of walking away, he struck a deal: work in the shop to pay it off. That sparked a passion and built relationships that shaped his career.
By 1990, he opened his own shop in Beaverton with a flip phone, a stack of business cards, and a promise to treat customers like family.

Word spread. Referrals grew. Neighboring shops, dealerships, and fleet managers began sending him their toughest jobs. Over time, Tim’s AATCO Transmissions became synonymous with trustworthy, high-quality transmission work across Portland Metro.
A New Chapter
After 35+ years of leasing, Tim is moving the shop into a building he owns — just one mile away. More bays, easier access, and long-term stability for the business and its customers.
